Our Services
Asbestos Reinspections

The HSE recommends that asbestos reinspections are completed at least annually so that you have up to date information on which to base your asbestos management plan.
The extent of reinspection shall include all areas already known to contain asbestos containing materials. Where possible to do so any areas previously not accessed will be surveyed for the presence of suspected asbestos containing materials.
Home Counties Asbestos Ltd will check the condition, quantity and location of all known asbestos containing materials identified during previous inspections. Where changes have occurred appropriate alterations will be made to the resultant report.

Asbestos Management Surveys

An asbestos management survey is the current industry standard survey type. It's purpose is to locate, as far as reasonably practicable, the presence and extent of any suspect asbestos containing materials in the building which could be damaged or disturbed during normal occupancy, including foreseeable maintenance and installation activities.
Home Counties Asbestos Ltd will check the condition, quantity and location of all suspected asbestos containing materials identified during the asbestos management survey.

Asbestos Refurbishment Surveys

Prior to any refurbishment works being carried out you have a legal duty to complete an asbestos refurbishment survey which will focus specifically on the areas involved.
This is due to the fact that refurbishment will likely expose and/or disturb parts of the property that were not inspected during the asbestos management survey. Remember; an asbestos management survey is non-destructive so you can never rely on it's findings prior to refurbishment works.

Asbestos Demolition Surveys

Similarly to the requirement to carry out an asbestos refurbishment survey prior to refurbishment works, you have a legal duty to complete an asbestos demolition survey prior to any demolition works.
Clearly demolition work is comprehensively destructive so you must first locate all asbestos containing materials so that they can be safely removed prior to the demolition of the property.

Lead Paint Surveys

With the potential to cause serious health problems, if you suspect that lead paint is present in a working area, a survey and risk assessment is highly recommended prior to any work commencing.
Home Counties Asbestos will provide a complete lead paint survey of buildings or specific locations within them that may contain lead. The first stage of our risk assessment will analyse whether lead paint is present and measure the specific quantity of it. Samples will be collected and analysed by an independent UKAS accredited laboratory to determine the lead content by Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry (ICP-MS Analysis). This analysis will identify the percentage of lead content within each sample.
We’ll then provide a complete report based on the site observation and quantitative analysis of the paint coating samples taken during the survey. As part of the report, we work with you to ensure your compliance with the Control of Lead at Work Regulations 2002 by controlling and minimising your employees exposure to harmful lead paint.
